When the washing machine cycle is completed and you press the pause button, the remaining time information may continue to blink and display, even though the washing is already finished. This is normal behavior for the GE GTW840CPNDG washing machine. To continue the cycle, simply press the Start button again. If there is still water in the machine, you can select the Drain & Spin cycle to drain the water from the washer basket.

If your GE GTW840CPNDG washing machine has 9 minutes left in the bulky cycle, is not draining, and the play/pause button is flashing, you can try the following steps:1. Press the play/pause button to pause the cycle.2. Check if the lid is closed properly. If the lid is open, close it.3. Press the play/pause button again to resume the cycle.4. If the machine still does not drain, select the Drain & Spin cycle to manually drain the water from the washer basket.5. If the issue persists, redistribute the load evenly in the wash basket and run a Drain & Spin cycle again. These steps should help resolve the draining issue and allow the cycle to continue.

@Rachelle For my machine I had to hold the Delay Wash and Auto Soak at the same time for 3 seconds. The manual above mentioned a different combination though.

Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the GE GTW840CPNDG below.
What temperature should I use for my laundry?
The washing label of your garment shows the recommended washing temperature.
Do I need to use an anti-scaling agent for my washing machine?
It is not necessary to use an anti-scaling agent. Scale deposits can be prevented by limiting washing at high temperatures and using the recommended amount of detergent per wash.
How do I prevent my washing machine from smelling?
Unpleasant odours can be avoided by occasionally washing at 60 degrees and using the recommended amount of detergent per wash.
Why is my washing machine not starting at all?
Ensure that the power cord is properly plugged into a functioning electrical outlet, and that the outlet is receiving power. Also, make sure the washer lid is securely closed as the machine will not start if the lid is open.
Why is my washing machine not spinning or agitating?
Check if the load is unbalanced, redistribute the clothes evenly in the drum. Additionally, ensure that the lid is closed properly, as the washer will not spin or agitate if the lid is open.
How do I select and adjust different wash cycles?
Use the "Cycle Selection" knob to choose the desired wash cycle. Turn the knob clockwise to select a cycle, and pull it out to adjust the settings within that cycle, such as temperature, spin speed, or soil level.
Why is my washing machine not draining or draining slowly?
Check if the drain hose is kinked, twisted, or clogged with debris. Straighten the hose and ensure it is free from any obstructions. Additionally, make sure the drain hose is not inserted too far into the standpipe, as this can result in siphoning.
How can I troubleshoot excessive vibrations or noise during operation?
Confirm that the washing machine is level on a solid and stable surface. Use a bubble level to adjust the feet as needed. Ensure that the shipping bolts, if any, have been completely removed. Overloading the machine or washing heavy items separately may also help reduce vibrations and noise.
